Āndhramēva Jayatē…!

After the bifurcation of the united Andhra Pradesh, the Andhra Saraswata Parishad in Hyderabad was renamed as the Telangana Saraswata Parishad. With the noble intention of continuing the glory of the Telugu language in the new Andhra state, under my leadership as President, along with Dr. Kadimilla Varaprasad and Sri Medikonda Srinivas as Vice Presidents, Sri Chakravadhanula Reddappa Daveji as Secretary, Sri Rayaprolu Bhagavan as Treasurer, and Sri Ponnapalli Rama Rao and Sri Manthena Ramakumar Raju as Joint Secretaries, the organization was registered in Bhimavaram in 2017, and began conducting activities from a temporary office.

With the motto “Āndhramēva Jayatē!”, our mission began with the goal of promoting and preserving the glory of the Telugu (Andhra) language. We organized several programs at the district level. Due to COVID-19, we conducted many virtual events via Zoom and collaborated with various social and literary organizations.

The members of our Parishad proposed conducting an event on the scale of the World Telugu Mahasabha. It was unanimously resolved to organize an international Telugu celebration in Bhimavaram in 2022. We took a firm decision not to seek any assistance from the government. When Sri Rayaprolu Bhagavan was requested to serve as the Chief Secretary of the celebration, he accepted graciously. We formed an organizing committee and began executing our plans.

With the support of friend Sri Mahesh Varma, West Berry School in Pedamiram became the venue for the celebrations. A dedicated office was set up in Sriramapuram. We personally visited and invited numerous guests and literary scholars.

We scheduled the following:

January 3, 2022: Telugu Language Glory Procession

January 6: Poornakumbha Awards Ceremony

January 7 & 8: Seminars, cultural programs, and donor felicitation ceremonies.

Various responsibilities were assigned as follows:

Seminars & Cultural Programs: Sri Rayaprolu Bhagavan

Poornakumbha Awards: Lion Sri Krishnamraju and Smt. Surekha Ghazal Srinivas

Procession: Sri Keshiraju Ramaprasad

Venue & Hospitality: Sri Medikonda Srinivas, Sri Medikonda Ramadasu, Abhiruchi Vamsi team

Transport & Accommodation: Sri Addala Vasudeva Rao, Sri Sreekanth

Publicity: Sri Vodupu Gopi

Poets’ Gathering: Dr. S.R.S. Kolluri

All these individuals carried out their responsibilities with great planning and teamwork, ensuring the grand success of the event.

We invited experts across many fields in the Telugu language to conduct over 21 seminars. We showcased various forms of art including:

Avadhanam

Classical music

Instrumental, light, cinematic, and folk music

Harikatha, Burrakatha

Kuchipudi and Andhra Natyam

Mythological and social dramas

Monologues

Bhajans, and many more

All these artistic expressions highlighted the rich literary and cultural glory of Telugu.

As envisioned, we successfully implemented our plan. The celebrations reached great heights and received overwhelming response:

Delegates from 40 countries participated.

Over 100 Telugu associations from various Indian states attended.

We provided special facilities for all participants.

Hundreds of poets and language enthusiasts from Telangana participated, adding further joy to the event.

Thousands of Telugu language lovers, poets, scholars, dignitaries, and journalists filled the venue with vibrancy and enthusiasm. It was truly fulfilling to witness our dream come to life so gloriously.

I emphasized that Telugu is not just a subject art the school, but the language of our mothers’ lap, and was heartened to see unanimous support for the statement:

“It’s not enough for Telugu to be an official language — it must be the language of affection for the people.”

Every guest was welcomed with traditional musical ensembles, Vedic blessings, and Poornakumbha honors. We worshipped the cow, planted saplings, and organized engaging seminars and cultural programs. The “Telugu Toranam” dance production was a special attraction.

We installed digital screens throughout the venue, and arranged seating for approximately 7,000 attendees. We ensured all modern technical facilities were available.

In a unique gesture, entry was made free for all. We provided refreshments and meals — especially traditional Godavari district dishes that delighted all food lovers. Drinking water facilities were made available at multiple locations. We set up first aid, ambulance services, and ensured free transportation and accommodation for guests. The services of the NSS student volunteers were commendable.

We hosted book exhibitions, Ayurveda and naturopathy medicine displays, and Telugu cultural photo exhibitions. The nomadic tribal art forms were especially captivating to the audience.

When I approached many generous individuals and explained the celebration’s purpose, they received me warmly and offered immediate financial support. I bow at their feet in gratitude. All of them were honoured by the Governor of Haryana, Sri Bandaru Dattatreya Garu.
